Three prizes for Cuarte SL (Grupo Jorge) farms at the 2024 Porc D’Or Awards

Tres galardones para las granjas de Cuarte SL (Grupo Jorge) en los Premios Porc D’Or 2024

Once again, Grupo Jorge farms have been awarded several statuettes at these prizes, which recognise and encourage excellence in the production of Spanish pig farms and companies.

 

Last Friday 29th of November, the Auditorium of Zaragoza brought together more than 1,000 professionals from the pig sector, including farmers, veterinarians and technicians, to celebrate the 31st edition of this important event organised by IRTA (Institute for Agri-Food Research and Technology). The Porc D’Or awards recognise best practices and the dedication of pig farms affiliated with BDporc (Spanish Pig Data Bank). On this occasion, Cuarte SL farms obtained nine nominations with which they competed alongside more than 100 leading farms in the pig sector in Spain, managing to win three awards in the category of 501 to 1000 sows:

  • Navarro Farm – Las Barreras: Gold for Lactation Management.
  • La Parra Farm: Gold for Farrowing Rate.
  • Las Bardenas Farm: Bronze for Numerical Productivity.

These awards reflect the commitment and continuing work of our teams, who work day after day to achieve the highest standards of sustainability, innovation and animal welfare. We would like to thank all the people and professionals who make this possible. We continue to advance with strength towards a better future for livestock farming!

About the Porc D’Or

With more than 30 years of history, the Porc d’Or Awards are an initiative of the IRTA in collaboration with the pig sector. Its aim is to encourage and recognise the efforts of pig farms and companies that lead the way towards more efficient and higher quality production. Each year, these awards - already known as the "Oscars of the pig sector" - highlight farms that make a difference and contribute to the progress of this key sector in the Spanish economy.
