In the Senior USJ, and within the events known as Aula Empresa (Business Classroom), Grupo Jorge explained the company’s susatainability policy to the students. Under the name “Feeding a Sustainable Future” (“Alimentando un futuro más sostenible”) Olga Samper Rivas, director of CSR and president of Fundación de Empresas Grupo Jorge (Grupo Jorge Businesses Foundation), set out the business development plans, with the aim of growing in a sustainable and respectful manner, encouraging the correct development of the Business’s activity and feeding a healthier future.
After a short introduction about the Group’s family origins, and an exposition of their excellent macro-economics as the foremost producer and exporter of pork meat, Olga stated that the key to their success was traceability, which covers all the stages that make up the pork’s productive process. Their rural properties, ecological cultivation and hardwood plantations, together with their commitment to renewable energies make this company CO2 neutral, and so a worthy recipient of the Calculate, reduce and Offset seal, awarded to the Company by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge in 2021.
Olga Samper showed her commitment to a circular, social, environmental and energy economy since all the production processes are geared to producing zero waste via reduction, re-use and transformation. Within the certification project of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations’ Agenda 2030, Grupo Jorge expressed their solid commitment to reaching a 100% sustainable product.
Lastly, through the recent creation of their Foundation, the CEOs are looking to have a positive influence on society, management and people. One good proof of this wasMs Samper’s presence among us, together with director general Sergio Samper, who joined in with the enriching subsequent talk with students.
