Grupo Jorge CEO, Sergio Samper, played host to King Felipe VI on March 18th after the inauguration of Alimentaria, one of the most important food sector business fairs that is being held until March 21st at the Fira de Barcelona.
Grupo Jorge, the leading pork exporter in Spain, participated this year in Alimentaria with a 300-square-metre stand, located in the central corridor of the pavilion dedicated to the meat industry.
Barcelona, March 20th - King Felipe VI visited the Grupo Jorge stand at the Alimentaria 2024 Business Fair on March 18th. Sergio Samper, CEO of Grupo Jorge, received the head of state and thanked him for his support for this key sector in the world's economies. The visit of Felipe VI was the main attraction on the first day of Alimentaria, a fair that has become a benchmark for the food industry in Spain and was held from March 18th to 21st.
Sergio and Carmina Samper, the group's Corporate Development Director, also received the ministers Jordi Hereu (Industry and Tourism) and Luis Planas (Agriculture, Fisheries and Food); the Government delegate in Catalonia, Carlos Prieto, the mayor of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Núria Marín, and the mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni.
Grupo Jorge, a Spanish business leader in the pork industry sector with a presence in more than 100 countries and the leading exporter of pork in Spain, carries out important commercial work at Alimentaria during the Fair. Its stand, designed and based on modern architecture and sustainable finishes, will be a meeting point of over 300 square meters where it welcomes visitors and strengthen and forge new business ties.
During the Fair, customers, suppliers and the general public can relax and enjoy tasting our meat products, a rich and healthy pork in different preparations, such as pinchos and original tapas. In addition, visitors are also offered a tasting of the exclusive 100% acorn-fed Iberian Jabugo ham PDO from its 959 brand.
Alimentaria Barcelona hosts more than 3,200 exhibiting companies, occupying 100,000 m2 and seven pavilions, almost the whole length of the Gran Vía of Fira de Barcelona in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. Furthermore, it expects to receive up to 100,000 professional visitors, reaffirming its leadership as the main platform for promoting business, internationalization and networking in the food sector and the ideal place to create new business opportunities for the most important companies in this area.
